here - HGTVPro.com Below are pictures taken of the first Platinum Advanced Technologies house ever built in Manatee County, Florida and the second one to be built in the state of Florida, it was built on 20th. Street East Bradenton, Florida. This system is made up of structural insulated panels (SIP) that are constructed using a patented system of 4' x 8' steel stud framed panels that are covered with a bi-directional fiberglass matt and then injected with a structural polyurethane foam. All electrical boxes and conduit are installed at the factory and stubbed out to the top of the wall panels. These panels weight less than 70 pounds and can easily be handled by one man. Designed to withstand a 220 mph wind and having a crush factor of 25,000 pounds, they will withstand anything that mother nature can throw at them. They are so tough that the testing lab broke their testing press twice trying to crush them. Withstanding a racking test of 7800 lbs, applied to one corner of the restrained panel only produced a deflection of 1.5" and when the pressure was released the panel returned within a 1/2" of being plumb. Having an energy rating of R-24.5 on the 3.5" walls and an R-38.5 on the 5.5" walls you will not find a more energy efficient product in the market today. This product is so air tight after installation that a fresh air vent must be added to bring in fresh air and equalize the interior and exterior air pressures. The exterior walls, windows and doors, the interior steel panelized framing, the trusses, and the ceiling panels of the Rhoden house below were installed in 4 days on this 1040 square foot house by a seven man crew that had no experience using this system. The Rhoden house was constructed from ground breaking to certificate of occupancy in 8 weeks. This house was built by Specialty Construction of Bradenton for Patricia Rhoden under the supervision of Lewis Consulting Services. TIME IS MONEY- Let us show you how you can save months of construction time and cut your construction costs by at least 30% on the average construction project.
